my windowsill
Cold outside - nice and cozy inside! A power failure reminded me how great candles are ... so I went and got the camera... and then the power came back on. So I turned out the lights for this shot. It's all candle-light. 3 exp HDR, cipher tone mapping in Artizen HDR. and a GREAT DEAL of pp in Paint Shop Pro to reduce noise in the blue sky!.
Upon Reflection
Reflections, reflections, and reflections. I can see myself in one of them but maybe thats my imagination upon reflection..
This was really fun! The wax dripping down my hand was a little obnoxious but messes are fun. I had a little trouble making noise on the window but oh wellllll. I really love how this came out though. :] Window and sky both from sxc.hu!.

Chanukah: First Candle
Chanukah is known as the Festival of Lights, is an eight-day Jewish holiday commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt of the 2nd century BCE. It is observed for eight nights, starting yesterday. The festival is observed by the kindling of the lights of a special candelabrum, the nine-branched Menorah or Hanukiah, one additional light on each night of the holiday, progressing to eight on the final night. An extra light called a shamash (Hebrew: "guard" or "servant") is also lit each night for the purpose of lighting the others. After lighting and singing and eating and stuff, the candles are tradditionally located by the window to shed light and positive wishes from every house over the world..
