Votives
I got the day off for MLK Day today and found myself home alone for the first time in a long time. My wife had to work, our oldest two daughers headed back to college yesterday, and our youngest two were in Florida playing with our church's youth bell choir. So I headed to Wal-Mart where I printed a photo and found a nice frame for it for only $2. Then I bought these twelve votives for 33 cents each for a Valentines Day photo idea along with a couple of packs of neon colored straws for some cheap photo props. I am so easily, and cheaply, entertained! : - ).

Exploring the Church
I like all the colorful votives. They make everything a bit more festive.... Cathedrals can be sort of melancholy places, so anything to liven things up a bit are a nice change of pace. I'm not saying we should go neon-signs or blinky-text on the church's website or anything crazy like that.... just a little somethin-somethin to spice things up a bit.
