My living room..
After: OTHER end table
I got an idea one weekend, after replacing our TV, which was struck by lightning, to make my old couches more comfortable. Well, that snowballed into a complete redecoration and redesign that I absolutely LOVE now!! But I'm not allowed to watch TLC for this reason alone. This whole thing is new and I love it!! Before, I was storing my magazines on the table top and there was no place to actually use the tables. Now, there's the shelf underneath AND a drawer so I can keep my magazines available and have pretty decorations And we have the phone and the monkey just keeping watch..

And the circle thing is just a decoration I picked up from Target that I thought really fit the whole aspect of the room..

It's a Really Big Tent
This is the back of the Berry House where we shot the wedding scene and.... hey, wait-a-minute... is that a house inside a tent??? Pretty much. See, when you work in the movies you can do anything you want. In reality, that's not a tent, it's just a really great collection of grifflons rigged up to block out the harsh afternoon sunlight..

My computer area. This is the desk from the before pictures. Yes it was that hideous broken desk. I repaired it and applied several coats of varnish to the top and my mother made the skirt for the desk. This is by far my favorite mini-makeover. When we finished the desk I felt like a kid on christmas morning when he sees all the presents under the tree. It looks so fancy. :) ok lets move on. :).

This little sitting area is my nephews reading area and they love it. My mother sowed all the cushion covers.. The fabric was 20 bucks a yard so we were lucky we found something affordable and durable..

The seat covers, the pillows, the desk skirt and all the curtains were sown together by my mother. I swear she knows how to do EVERYTHING..

Where do I start? The inspiration for this room came from one thing. The yellow fabric seen above. My mother saw it at the store and bought the whole thing. She didn't know what it would be used on, but she liked it so much she said she just couldn't leave it there. Next thing you know I get a vision and we are back in design mode after a several month hiatus from designing. This is the result. What do you think? BTW, I am an Interior Design student. :).

The fireplace brick was by far the hardest work. It took me 5 days and up to 8 hours of each day to refinish the brick and fill in the deep gaps. After many muscle aches I finally finished and the results were very worth all my hard work. The fireplace used up 3 coats of primer and 5 coats of paint..
