turquoise candleThe old candlestick from the past century was for us such a precious gift. Quite old, it was reminding us of the living times when the alight candle beside an open Bible was helping the weakened look of the old grandfather, pastor in the french Cévennes. I imagined him once again meditating, praying and thinking about God’s things. I saw sitting on his side his wife, faithfull. Apé and Amé, as we used to call them, had served God all their life through and they were gone, faithfull to their faith, one after the other, at few months intervals. I wanted to start this year with this weak candle but full of emotions in order to remind us that this Essential of life is not in having.
