The one who lit the candle had a concern, a prayer, which he uttered before the Lord. The candles represent the truth we hold as Christians: our prayers never go unheard, and He cares for us. All of us carry burdons, worries, concerns that we hold in our hearts. Sometimes these are about ourselves, sometimes about those we love, and sometimes about the world as a whole. To say that God cares for us is a profound truth. He is always waiting, always listening. Those who petition Him in faith, experience His loving concern. We pray for ourselves. We pray for the whole world. And when I see these candles, I join my prayer with those whose intentions are represented here. In this small way, we care for one another. (highest p
