proof of concept
Our wedding will be held in a heritage building, with lots of very old airplanes next door. This means we can't have any open flames. Instead, we bought a buttload of LED tealights. We're deciding on fonts/motifs for the "name cards" for the tables. We like the one with the large green bamboo on the front and the pink leaves on the side..

Very interesting phenomenon! the amber trail is from a candle; the blue dashed lines are from a show-piece. This thing has a solid glass cube inside which is a 3 dimensional etched design (wonder how that is done!) To make it look nice, there are 3 led's( red, green blue) placed at the bottom to illuminate it. These leds fade out slowly and turn on and off in turn. Apparently, this thing is using PWM to control the intensity of the leds! notice that the length of the dashes is changing- shorter dashes=lower duty cycle=dim; longer dashes=highre duty cycle=brighter..
