Really Big Cupcake
This has to be one of my favorite cakes. I used the Wilton Cupcake Pan(cute idea,bad design). I wanted a different look for the "wrapper" so I used the large side of the pan and coated it with candy melts until I got the desired thickness. I recommend 2-3 coats and refrigerating for about 15-20 minutes between each coat. I then placed two 4" round cakes inside the shell. The top part is cake covered in buttercream. The sprinkles and candle are fondant..

Pink Lace Birthday Fairy Cake
The small, British version of the American cupcake. Usually covered in drizzly icing instead of frosting and covered with sprinkles, silver balls or sugar flowers they are perfect for afternoon tea, parties or to leave out for the fairies that give them their name ;) They are the stuff of childhood memories: just one nibble can transport you back in time and even today, no self-respecting children's birthday party would be without them. This fairy cake comes in a pink lace patterned "paper" case and is topped by white icing (some dripped over the side...), chocolate sprinkles, silver balls and a lit bright pink candle..

jason was born around 8pm, and i was born around 9pm - so we are only an hour apart. i think most people find this a bit weird - i mean i kind of do. yay for randomness..

(128:365) TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!k hurray - jason and i are now 21! today we went to lunch with my parents and tried beer (don't like beer... acquired taste i guess) and we got gifts from my parents and it was really nice. hurray for birthdays!! also, i LOVE the candles i got - they have colored flames so the flame on this candle burned blue..
