- Chinese proverb Picture Summer Day 23 Assignment: life is but a dream ( a little complicated to explain, but the assignment involves water) These are floating candles in a blue glass bowl filled with water. I know the composition in this could be better, but I spent my day on the phone with various doctors and health professionals and wasn't able to focus much on this assignment. It's actually a lot harder to get floating candles to do what one wants than one might expect! I am so happy to report that today the news from those phone calls filled me with hope..

Moving apartments, earthquakes, hurricane... been a busy last few weeks so here's a chill candle. This is from the workshop "Unplugged Light" at the Prague Quadrennial. Over two days our small groups of international students created lighting projects/installations from candles, batteries, glow sticks, and other 'unplugged' small scale lights..
